About this programme

A language becomes real the first time a student is understood by a stranger. Immersion programmes combine structured tuition with days spent living in the language and the culture around it — supported by history, art and community encounters that give the vocabulary something to hold onto.

Age group: Typically 11–18
Duration: Typically 7–14 days

What students do

Structured language tuition with qualified local teachers
Days spent living, ordering, travelling and asking in the language
Museum, gallery and historical site study visits with guided tasks
Community and host-school interaction, including exchange visits
